Dr Terence Yeo

Founder & Executive Chairman

Dr. Terence Yeo is the Executive Chairman and Founder of 3LED, Inc., a technology-driven group of lighting and photonics ventures united by a commitment to precision engineering, advanced manufacturing, and sustainable design. Under his leadership, 3LED has grown into a platform of high-performance brands—including Fusion Optix, Xico Lighting, LEDdynamics, ProLume, Ledify, and Flexgrid Systems—that serve a diverse range of customers, from lighting designers and architects to OEMs and large-scale commercial clients.

Terence began his career at the forefront of global technology and innovation. He held roles at Nortel Networks, where he worked on leading-edge optical networking systems during the telecom boom, and at Amadeus Capital Partners, one of Europe’s leading deep tech venture capital firms, where he supported investments in optics, semiconductors, and photonics. These experiences gave him a deep understanding of the intersection between emerging technologies and commercial growth, shaping his long-term vision for innovation-led entrepreneurship.

He founded Fusion Optix in 2003 whilst studying at University of Cambridge, building it from a startup into a multi-million-dollar leader in LED-related optical components and light engines. Over the following two decades, he steadily expanded the company’s scope through organic innovation and strategic acquisitions, ultimately creating what is now 3LED, Inc.—a vertically integrated group built to accelerate next-generation lighting and smart system technologies.

Terence holds a PhD in Physics from Loughborough University, an MBA from the University of Cambridge, and is a graduate of the Owner/President Management (OPM) program at Harvard Business School. He is a named inventor on over 60 granted patents and has built a respected reputation as both a technical innovator and strategic business leader. As Executive Chairman, he remains deeply involved in guiding 3LED’s long-term direction, leading M&A strategy, nurturing talent, and ensuring the group’s ventures stay true to their mission: to bring smarter, better light to the world.
